During difficult times, patients and their families must make numerous decisions and overcome various obstacles. The process of navigating end-of-life care often brings strong emotions and can be confusing. Our goal is to support patients and their loved ones by helping them create a plan that ensures both comfort and dignity. Although each person’s circumstances are different, the information below is designed to address many common questions about starting hospice care.

In the United States, hospice refers to a specialized form of care rather than a physical location. Hospice services are provided wherever the patient resides, specifically for those whose physicians determine a prognosis of six months or less to live. As individuals approach the end of life, they often experience various changes in medication, sleep patterns, fatigue, nutrition, and family dynamics. Amity care Hospice is committed to addressing each of these transitions with the goal of optimizing quality of life.
